What are the certifications of DualSun panels?

All DualSun panels are certified according to the European standards IEC (for the photovoltaic part) and Solar Keymark (for the thermal part).

For the Australian market, we have recently obtained the Australian CEC certification.

In the United States, we have also obtained the UL listing certification for photovoltaic and SRCC certification for the thermal part.

The first company in the world to obtain the new "Solar Hybrid" certification

In 2013, DualSun was the first company to successfully pass the new series of tests specific to solar hybrid technology; a major breakthrough for the solar industry. After only 3.5 years of development, the DualSun panel is the first hybrid solar panel in the world to prove its robustness and compliance with the new standards for this technology. This is a first that we are very pleased with and which allows us to initiate a strategic turning point in the commercialization of our innovative product.

It has therefore successfully passed an extremely rigorous battery of tests, including :

  • WIND RESISTANCE: A pressure of 2400 Pa, the equivalent of a wind blowing at 130 km/h, is applied for one hour.
  • HAIL RESISTANCE: The module resists the projection of hailstones up to 4cm in diameter, weighing 29 g and being projected at a speed of 100 km/h. (certification RG4)
  • SNOW RESISTANCE: A pressure of 5400 Pa is applied for one hour.
  • THERMAL CYCLING: The module is exposed to 200 temperature cycles, one cycle from -40 to 85°C for a period of six hours. We are one of the few manufacturers to perform the standard oven ageing tests (thermal cycling -40° to +85°) under pressure.
  • DAMP HEAT: The module is exposed for 1000 hours at 85°C and 85% relative humidity.

DualSun: a must for energy transition

Since March 2013, all hybrid solar panels (photovoltaic and thermal) must comply with both IEC standards (dedicated to photovoltaic panels) and reinforced Solar Keymark standards (dedicated to thermal panels).

These rigorous tests carried out on the DualSun by the TÜV Rheinland laboratory (Cologne, Germany) prove its resistance to extreme temperatures, accelerated aging cycles, violent projections, fire, etc.  Now approved and eligible for grants and insurance, our panel is now a flagship product in the energy transition for buildings.

The guarantee of high quality and reliability, obtaining IEC and Solar Keymark certifications in record time gives our young company a great head start. An additional milestone has been reached, enabling the start-up to move from industrialization to the next stage: the commercial deployment of DualSun in Europe and internationally, thanks to the recent obtaining of Australian and then American certifications (in progress).

DualSun: the energy solution for buildings

The DualSun company has developed an innovative solar panel perfectly suited for buildings, which produces both electricity (photovoltaic) and solar hot water (thermal). The unique efficiency of the DualSun panel allows it to produce 3 times more energy than a standard photovoltaic panel of the same surface area.

Our industrial start-up proposes alone or in partnership several offers dedicated to individual houses as well as collective buildings. It is positioned as an essential energy solution for buildings around the world.

Ulrich Fritzsche, TÜV Rheinland, Project Manager of Hybrid PVT systems: “With the new chapter 13.7 of the Solar Keymark Scheme Rules, every hybrid solar panel must pass new specific tests that have been developed over the past years.   In our laboratories, DualSun is the first manufacturer to pass these new tests.  We believe strongly in the potential of the PVT technology… otherwise, we would not spend so much time developing these new relevant tests!”
