How are the yields of panels calculated in MyDualSun?

The MyDualSun application uses the TRNSYS thermodynamic simulation software to calculate panel production. TRNSYS, an American simulation program, has set the standard for thermal simulations of buildings. It has been used for more than 30 years for the dimensioning of systems of heating, ventilation, electrical production, solar systems, and for the analysis of the thermal performance of buildings.

In the United States, TRNSYS is used by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Labs (NREL) to model their solar systems. In France, CSTB participated in the development of the user interface of TRNSYS, and is the distributor of the software in France. The French site for renewable energy weather forecasting also uses TRNSYS to simulate solar thermal coverage.

The DualSun panel has been modeled and integrated into the software by the thermal studies agency TESS (Thermal Energy Systems Specialists), in order to ensure the independence and reliability of the results of our MyDualSun simulator. TESS is currently in charge of developing TRNSYS through international collaboration with institutions in France (CSTB), Germany, and Sweden.
